As 'Technical Specialist - Technology Projects' you will report into the Technology Projects Manager and direct and deliver technical projects or project work streams to drive the development of new, or improvement in existing Technologies & Processes for our client's organisation. This is a strategic role which will support innovation and new research across the business.

You will approach challenges from 1st principles, using your creativity and leveraging the consumer insights and applied science experience of our client's technical and research teams to build robust work stream frameworks, taking a wide-ranging view of potential solutions. You will discover and roll out 'Best Practice' to support technical teams across the organisation in the delivery of their research and development work. As Technical Specialist you will employ formal project management methodology (PRINCE 2 training provided) to deliver robust development processes, and capture key learnings for all research and development staff.

As a member of the management team you'll be expected to coach, mentor and train junior colleagues and contribute to strategy setting within the Technology Projects group.

Externally you will work closely with third party suppliers worldwide and specialist consultancies to deliver well managed projects for technology innovations, developing your knowledge and understanding of the global marketplace in technology innovation.

You'll capture learnings and deliver presentations, write technical reports, and (where appropriate) contribute to publications for internal and external communication. This external commitment will form part of your participation in industry forums and working groups involving existing partner organizations, and those my client may seek to develop relationships with.

To succeed as 'Technical Specialist - Technology Projects' you will need:

• Degree level qualification (or equivalent), and ideally post-graduate qualification.
• Technical experience in an R&D/ technology driven environment.
• Broad awareness of technical developments in an industrial setting (e.g FMCG, Food, Pharma, etc)
• Project management experience (ideally 'PRINCE 2', but training provided.
